Grant Goulson

 
 

Grant Goulson is a Twin Cities-based music educator, composer, and performer who currently serves as the Director of Middle School Bands for Tri-City United Public Schools.

In 2021, Grant earned his BM in Music Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he was the recipient of the Fanfare Award for outstanding service to the Department of Music and served as winds sergeant of the Bulldog Marching Band. In 2025, he was named a finalist for Tri-City United’s Educator of the Year award. He is also a recipient of the Emerging Leader Award from Cannon Valley UniServ.

Grant is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Music Education from the University of St. Thomas, continuing to deepen his pedagogical practice and commitment to student-centered music education.

Alongside his responsibilities with Tri-City United Schools, Grant is an active marching arts educator and consultant and has worked with various ensembles across Minnesota, including the Montevideo Marching Band, River City Rhythm Drum and Bugle Corps, River City Rhythm Indoor Winds, the Champlin Park High School Marching Rebels, and the Govenaires Drum and Bugle Corps.

Grant is an active member of the National Association for Music Education, the Minnesota Music Educators Association, and Education Minnesota. When not teaching, he enjoys watching basketball, performing as a brass and piano player around the Twin Cities, and spending time in the Northwoods and along the North Shore of Lake Superior.
