Help us Keep the Show on the Road!

On July 4, while traveling to our housing site during severe weather, a rental truck towing the Govenaires food and merchandise trailer was involved in an accident. Most importantly, all three occupants were evaluated by emergency responders and released. We are deeply grateful that everyone is safe, and we remain thankful for the first responders who assisted at the scene.

Now that the immediate concern for those involved has passed, GPAA is working through the practical consequences of the accident. The food and merchandise trailer was a key part of how the corps operates on the road. It carried food-service equipment, merchandise, shelving, and other supplies that help us feed members, support performances, and keep the season moving. We are working on immediate season needs, and if those are met will shift the goal to long term replacement of the fleet so we can continue our traditions to 100 years and beyond. Thank you for the love and support. We couldn’t do this without you.

Sponsor a Meal

Generosity Matched

Ruth and Jed Stark sponsored a chicken dinner catered by Hy-Vee. To match their donation, the Fairmont Hy-Vee catered the meal for free and threw in cookies for dessert.

Members of the Govenaires take pride in the corps through our dedication to performance. This requires focused day-long rehearsals nearly every weekend to put on our best show for our fans.

One of the largest annual expenses for the Govenaires is making sure our members are well fed, especially when we’re on the road. Providing our members with the nourishment they need to rehearse and perform their best requires the support of many volunteers and will cost approximately $12,000 this summer. Sponsoring a meal allows supporters to directly contribute to the cost of feeding our members while we are on the road.

The Govenaires currently need funding for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for our various tour weekends throughout the summer.

If you are interested in sponsoring a meal, please email merrill@govenaires.org to work directly with us to find the meal that fits your desired donation.
