Govenaires 2019 ...

The Govies Take Manhattan

Put yourself in the shoes of a Midwestern tourist exploring New York City for the first time. The experience can be overwhelming, but there is something for everyone in the city that never sleeps.

The Govenaires have never been afraid to leave the confines of southern Minnesota, and this year is no exception.

For their 92nd season, the Govenaires will set out on a trip to the Big Apple’s most iconic borough with their 2019 show, The Govies Take Manhattan.

The performers will highlight the wide range of Manhattan experiences: from the hectic and claustrophobic morning commutes, to the relaxing grandeur of an afternoon in Central Park. Key sites will come alive throughout the production, spanning from the Apollo Theater of Harlem to Liberty Island.

“One belongs to New York instantly; one belongs to it as much in five minutes as in five years.” ― Tom Wolfe
